The Dan Harris Challenge will be the first race of the Think International Challenge, matching B.C.'s finest surf skiers against Washington's. The second race (Board the Fjord) will take place in Deep Cove, B.C. on Saturday, May 11, 2019.

For this year's International Challenge all surfskis will score points for their team, not just the top 16, making this years Challenge a competition of speed and participation.

For directions to the DHC, you can enter Marine Park, Bellingham, WA" in your maps app on your smartphone, and/or follow these general directions: From I-5 take Exit 250 (Fairhaven Parkway) west through the light at 12th St. You will curve to the right then turn left at the stop sign on 11th St. Follow Harris Avenue down to and across the RR tracks. On your left is the entry to Marine Park. Parking will be limited within park property.

We are NOT including the short race. Due to construction at Boulevard Park (where the race has been held the prior 14 years), the race will start from the Marine Park shoreline.

As in prior years, rowers, pullers and paddlers will race each other along the Fairhaven and Chuckanut shorelines in what is becoming one of the most challenging and unpredictable races in the Northwest. The customary post-race BBQ awaits contestants, and volunteers. The BBQ is available to friends and spectators with a $5 suggested donation.

Door prizes and awards take place at Marine Park, with the rest of the Dirty Dan Days celebration awaiting just up Harris Ave., at the Village Green.
